MindMender: Neuro-Flow
MindMender: Neuro-Flow is a therapeutic game developed by Atomos Technologies, designed to support cognitive health and relaxation through paced, low-pressure interaction.
What made this hard.
Most wellbeing apps are optimised for retention, and the mechanics that drive retention — streaks, loss aversion, notification pressure — are the opposite of relaxing.
Therapeutic intent has to survive contact with game design, where difficulty and reward loops are the default tools.
It has to run smoothly on low-end devices, because stutter breaks the state the whole experience is trying to produce.
How we built it.
Mechanics built around pacing and flow rather than challenge escalation, with no streaks, no loss states and no notification pressure.
Audio and visual design treated as primary therapeutic surface rather than decoration.
Performance budget set by the lowest supported device, since a dropped frame is not a cosmetic issue in an experience about calm.
Outcome.
Live and publicly playable. Built as an in-house product to explore how game design serves wellbeing rather than engagement.
The design work fed directly into how we approach gamification for client training and health projects.
We publish no performance or commercial metric we cannot substantiate. Where a figure is absent here, it is because we do not have one we can stand behind.
Services and stack.
MindMender: Neuro-Flow — common questions.
Is MindMender a medical device?
No. MindMender: Neuro-Flow is a wellbeing and relaxation experience, not a regulated medical device, and it makes no clinical claims. Software making diagnostic or therapeutic claims falls under a different regulatory regime with substantially different obligations.
