Marine Operations Platform
A vessel management platform delivered by Atomos Technologies for a marine operations group, covering fleet operations, maintenance and regulatory compliance with full offline capability at sea.
This client asked not to be named publicly, so the project is described at sector level. We do not name clients without written permission.
What made this hard.
Vessel connectivity is expensive, slow and frequently absent for days, so anything requiring a server round trip is unusable at sea.
Regulatory reporting was being compiled by hand from several disconnected sources each period.
Shore and vessel records drifted apart, and reconciling them was manual.
How we built it.
Offline-first architecture: the vessel holds a complete local dataset and every operation works without connectivity.
Delta synchronisation with per-record-type conflict rules, so long gaps and simultaneous edits resolve predictably.
Compliance reporting generated from operational data captured once at source, rather than compiled separately.
Outcome.
Delivered and in operational use. The client asked not to be named publicly, so this is described at sector level.
Reporting that had been assembled manually each period is now generated from data already captured during normal operations.
We publish no performance or commercial metric we cannot substantiate. Where a figure is absent here, it is because we do not have one we can stand behind.
