Manufacturing & Industrial IoT

Industrial IoT engineering is the connection of plant equipment and sensors to software that monitors, predicts and optimises production, under constraints of legacy protocols and operational safety.

Plant telemetry, predictive maintenance and the systems that turn sensor data into decisions.

Context

What makes this sector different.

Factory floors run equipment older than most software companies, speaking protocols designed before the internet, on networks deliberately isolated from it. Connecting that to modern analytics is less a data problem than a protocol, safety and change-management problem.

We build the connectivity layer, the ingestion and storage designed for high-frequency time series, and the analytics that make it useful — predictive maintenance, throughput analysis and quality monitoring — with the operational-technology boundary respected rather than bypassed.

Problems we are asked to solve

  • Equipment speaking legacy or proprietary protocols
  • Networks intentionally isolated from the internet
  • Unplanned downtime with no early warning
  • Quality issues detected after the batch is complete
  • Data trapped in machines that never leaves the floor
Standards

Frameworks we design against.

Systems for this sector are built to satisfy the obligations below. Naming a framework here describes what we design and document against — it is not a claim to hold a certification on your behalf.

  • IEC 62443
  • ISO 27001
  • GDPR
  • Functional safety context
  • Equipment certification
Where we deliver

Wherever you operate.

We deliver Manufacturing & Industrial IoT engagements for clients in India, United States, United Kingdom, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Thailand, and worldwide — under NDA by default, with a defined daily overlap against your working hours.

Questions

Manufacturing & Industrial IoT — common questions.

Can you connect legacy factory equipment?

Usually, through protocol gateways speaking Modbus, OPC UA, PROFINET or vendor-specific protocols, bridging to modern messaging. Where a machine exposes nothing usable, external sensing is often a cheaper and lower-risk route than modifying certified equipment.

What is predictive maintenance?

Predictive maintenance uses equipment telemetry to identify developing faults before failure, so servicing is scheduled rather than reactive. It requires sufficient historical data including actual failures — without recorded failures there is nothing for a model to learn to predict.

How do you handle OT network isolation?

By respecting it. Data flows out through a controlled boundary — typically a data diode or tightly-governed gateway — rather than opening the operational network. Analytics runs on the IT side, and control paths back into OT are avoided unless explicitly required and safety-reviewed.

Can analytics run on-site rather than in the cloud?

Yes. Edge deployment suits high-frequency data, latency-sensitive decisions and sites with limited connectivity. A common pattern is inference at the edge with aggregates sent to the cloud, which cuts bandwidth cost substantially while keeping central visibility.
